Luckily, I haven't needed surgery. So my answer is no. Thanks for your questions though!

I have had ADR surgery after having degenerative disc disease for almost a decade.  Herniated my L4/L5 four times.  3 micro-discectomies.  And after my last micro-d, I reherniated a month later.  I had enough and pressed ahead to get an ADR.  4 months post-op and I feel amazing.  Still have my aches and pains.. but they are MINOR compared to before.  The surgery was relatively easy with the exception of my intestines shutting down afterwards because they go in thru the stomach, however I was the small percentage in severity.  But looking back, it was all worth it.

A decade —I can't imagine. That sounds painful, to say the least. So sorry you had to go through that but hey, you're on the other side now. Woo!

I'm really happy to hear you were able to get ADR surgery. After researching a bit, I find it fascinating.

Minor pain compared to that constant agony —sounds like a win! I'll have to pass this info along to my dad who actually lives with two herniated discs in his back and neck.
