With chronic back issues and pain, getting up in the morning can be rather daunting.  Some mornings would rather just lay there for a couple hours so my muscles wake up at their own pace.  However, life is crazy and that more often than not time does not allow.  What are some things people do to get their mind and body rocking and rolling in the morning so they can tackle the day with success?

What a great post. Mornings can be my favorite time when no one is up in the house and I get to drink my coffee on the back porch in zen mode. However, they can also be dreadful from a bad night’s sleep.

I try to NOT hit the ground running. I try to sit in bed for a few minutes and say positive affirmations to myself, setting the tone for my day and not rushing to go go go. I’ll drink some coffee like I said outside, try to mediate then start on my to do list.

I’m curious to see what others have to say as I’m always looking for ways to improve!

Well said Lexi. Mornings really are how to set the tone for the day. And with back pain, there’s no telling how our days will go.

I love taking 15 minutes post coffee and do some light stretching and/ or yoga poses. It really reinforces that slow and steady pace.

Someone recently told me about this meal replacement shake called Mobius. It’s supposedly loaded with vitamins, micronutrients and natural caffeine. I haven’t tried it yet but from their website, I think I need it to help clear that mental fog and for a little more energy. Anyone ever try it?

I watch inspirational videos on YouTube and do a little bit of stretching. Helps get the fog lifted and the stiffness from the night out.

Since I’m not going to therapy I am taking an hour to do the routine they taught me. I am currently sitting on the heating pad to relieve my upper back pain! I am so thankful for what they taught me at physical therapy!

Way to go! Dedicating an hour per day doing activities that help your mind and body will reap huge benefits short and long term. Keep up the good work.  If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask.

yes it’s helping greatly, physically and mentally!

Now that is inspiring. Love that it worked at PT AND is still working at home. That's half the battle. Plus, you can never go wrong with a heating pad. We're twins RN because I'm using mine too!

You know what, I'm trying this. Nothing like some motivational words to wake you up in the AM. Thanks, @CeeJay!
